A Classic Two‑Tone Kitchen In St Helen’s
A classic smoke green and antique white kitchen designed and fitted by TKB Kitchens in St Helens. Bespoke cabinetry, quartz worktops and a practical utility room, delivered within a £15k budget.
This project was part of a brand new kitchen extension at a home in St Helens. The customer wanted a kitchen that felt classic and timeless, but still worked in a modern space. Quality was important. So was staying on budget.
We designed and fitted a bespoke kitchen that balances traditional styling with clean, modern finishes. The result is a space that feels calm, elegant and made to last.
Classic style with a modern feel
The customer chose a two‑tone colour scheme using smoke green and antique white. Smoke green is one of the most popular colours at the moment, but it still feels timeless when paired with softer tones. Antique white helped keep the space light and balanced, especially in a large open extension.
To anchor the design, we built a full mantle above the range cooker. This added structure to the room and reinforced the classic kitchen feel. It also became a natural focal point within the space.

Clean finishes to the bespoke kitchen in St Helen’s
For the worktops, we used plain white quartz. The customer wanted something clean and simple that would complement the cabinetry rather than compete with it. The quartz gives a crisp finish, reflects light well, and works perfectly in a busy family kitchen.
Every unit was made in bespoke sizes. That allowed us to maximise storage and keep the layout feeling balanced and uncluttered.
Working alongside the build
This kitchen was installed as part of an ongoing extension. From the start, we worked closely with the builder to make sure everything lined up properly. Wall sizes, plumbing points and electrical positions were all planned around the kitchen design.
We stayed in regular contact throughout the build. That meant when it came time to install, everything was exactly where it needed to be. No delays. No costly changes. Just a smooth fit from start to finish.
A practical utility, neatly separated
Alongside the main kitchen, we also designed a separate utility room. Compact but very practical. It includes a stacked washing machine and dryer, a dishwasher, a sink and housing for the boiler.
To keep the kitchen looking calm and clutter free, the utility is separated by a sliding pocket door. It gives easy access without taking up floor space, and keeps the working area hidden when not in use.
High quality, kept within budget
The full project was completed within a £15,000 budget. That included bespoke cabinetry, quartz worktops, fitting, and the separate utility room. Every material was chosen for quality and longevity, without unnecessary extras.
The finished kitchen feels classic, but not dated. It works perfectly within the modern extension, while keeping a traditional warmth that will still look right years from now.
