Irlam and Cadishead
Kitchen designers and fitters in Irlam
Irlam and Cadishead are home. Our workshop is on Moss Lane, Cadishead, and we design, make and fit kitchens for neighbours across Irlam, Cadishead, Hollins Green, Glazebrook, Rixton, Partington, Flixton, Urmston and Eccles.
Made for the house you have
Kitchens made for how Irlam lives.
Irlam and Cadishead grew up along Liverpool Road and the Ship Canal, and the houses show it: Victorian and Edwardian terraces off the main road, long rows of inter-war semis towards Irlam station and Higher Irlam, post-war council-built houses now mostly owned, and newer estates on the old industrial land by the canal. Across the water, Hollins Green, Glazebrook and Rixton are older village houses and farmhouses. Partington and Carrington add more semis and new builds, and Flixton and Urmston bring bigger Edwardian houses nearer the Mersey.
Most of these kitchens are modest rooms, and that is where made-to-measure earns its keep. Standard units waste the odd centimetres. Ours use them. We measure the room ourselves, draw from a blank page and build the cabinets to the millimetre a few streets away, so a chimney breast, a boiler cupboard or a side return becomes part of the design rather than a problem to hide.

Made a few streets away
There is no closer kitchen maker to Irlam than us. The workshop is on Moss Lane, the first visit is at your home, and you are welcome to call in to the studio by appointment to see finishes and handle samples. Design and 3D visuals follow, and changes are made on paper where they cost nothing.
Every cabinet is made in that same workshop and fitted by our own team. If a drawer front needs adjusting a month after the fit, the people who built it come back. There is no subcontracted installer and no call centre in between.
If you are extending, bring us in before the drawings are final. Positions for the island, sink and extraction affect steels and glazing, and settling them on paper saves changes on site. We are used to working alongside local builders.

An Irlam kitchen, properly made
Fifteen minutes up the A57 in Warrington we recently finished a kitchen that shows the approach: a wood grain white run to keep the room light, a cashmere island to anchor it, Calacatta worktops and a classic mantle framing the range cooker. Read the Warrington project. In St Helens we fitted a two-tone smoke green and antique white kitchen with quartz worktops and a utility room, all within a sensible budget. See the St Helens project.
Neither is a showroom set piece. Both are family kitchens built for everyday use, which is what most Irlam and Cadishead homes need: good storage, hard-wearing surfaces, light where there is not much of it, and joinery that will still be square in twenty years.
Traditional, contemporary, farmhouse or modern, the method is the same: understand the room, design around the people, then build it by hand.
“We are delighted with our kitchen. Russell was brilliant. He listened to our ideas and because everything was made to measure we were able to get exactly what we wanted. The quality is excellent and we listened to Russell’s recommendations on where to save money and where not to compromise. Highly recommended!”
“5* Experience with TKB, my kitchen is now more family friendly thanks to Neil and the team. Neil came up with a fab idea of incorporating seating into our kitchen, which we now use and is daily perfect for family life. The overall service was faultless nothing was too much, great choice of colours and quartz worktops and outstanding craftsmanship. Highly recommend TKB, thank you again.”
“We had our Kitchen & Utility revamped last May by TKB Kitchens prior to moving in to our new home. We only had a small budget to get it more modern, usable and liveable with. From start to finish it was a positive experience resulting in an amazing transformation…better than we ever expected. Neil and the team at every level were super friendly, reliable and supportive and always mindful of our budget and everything else we had going on….trying to get moved in and due a baby at any moment. The quality of work and service we received was to a higher standard than I received a few years before when designing my dream kitchen at our old house m with a bigger high street kitchen company and has only made me more aware for future when designing my dream kitchen again here. It will be TKB who I call.”
“Fantastic job. Russ is a true craftsman and perfectionist. Can’t say enough about him and his right hand man Mike 👍”
“We were searching for a kitchen that balances quality and affordability without a pushy sales approach which led us to Russell from TKB. He visited our home after our recent extension and brought a wealth of knowledge and fantastic design ideas. We felt completely at ease, never experiencing a pressured sales pitch. The result is a stunning kitchen that is both beautiful and functional, perfectly fitting our space. It’s become the heart of our home, where we gather and entertain loved ones. For anyone in search of a breathtaking, high-quality kitchen at a reasonable price, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend TKB and am incredibly grateful for their exceptional work. We loved the service so much that we are moving next year and are using TKB again to install a new kitchen and a walk-in wardrobe in our new home.”
